Scientists: "The Sabertooth Cat was a Wuss"

At least, wussier than a lion in terms of bite, anyway:

Using the skull of a modern-day lion for comparison, a team of scientists at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) found the sabertooth had a relatively weak bite.

In fact, its bite was about one third as powerful as a lion.

So, I guess it was basically a big housecat, really. If that's the case, let me be the first to ride the next billow of a pop-culture wave: LOL SMILODONS!
