When Gastropods Attack!

Remember slugs? Those little slimy grey things, like shell-less snails, that eat the flowers and melt with the liberal application of ordinary table salt? Well, one totally mauled this guy: "A vicious slug ate my head!" Here's the meat of the piece:
A horrified camper woke up dripping in blood--as a vicious SLUG chewed his head. John Wilson thought a wasp had stung him and shrieked when he pulled the brown slimer off his brow. It had left puncture wounds as it gnawed his skin with 27,000 tiny teeth.
I shudder to think of all the pent-up rage that burgeons in the sleek quivering flesh of a garden slug, endlessly harassed by every other creature as it slithers boneless at the bottom of the food chain. Perhaps all slugs harbor such homicidal thoughts, their little eyestalks burning with implacable hate as they watch us from the safety of tall grass. They remember the salt shaker. Oh yes, they remember...
